Flexible Shaft

Elliott Flexible Shafts are ideally suited for transmitting power over, under, around and even through obstacles. They can overcome problems of misalignment, absorb and isolate vibration, and simplify power transmission designs and applications. Elliott Flexible Shafts can easily withstand the shock of sudden load changes due to starting and stopping. They will effectively and reliably transmit power to a driven element that must move during operation, even around corners or into machines while allowing for a high degree of freedom in the location of drive sources, whether mechanical, such as electric motors or manual. U
Using Flexible Shafts to solve complex drive problems can reduce design time, lower initial assembly and maintenance cost safely without the use of exposed universal joints, gears, pulleys or couplings. Consider Elliott Flexible Shafting early in your design to take full advantage of this unique technology to solve demanding drive problems efficiently, economically and with the flexibility you need. Push/Pull

Elliott’s Push-Pull Cable Assemblies are available in countless variations including the ever-popular groove or bulkhead end configurations. Among the many standard end fittings are built-in swivels that enable a 8° deflection each side of center with a conical deflection of nearly20° in total to accommodate control arm movement. Elliott's Push-Pull Controls are available in 30, 40,60 and 80 series cables. Cable size is determined within Elliott’s engineering department, through testing and experience and based on the length of the cable, normal & extreme useage, resistance and operating life and conditions.

A broad and deep offering Push-Pull Cable Ends, Fittings & Accessories have made Elliott the preferred supplier to many of the leading names in agriculture, aerospace, automotive, commercial and industrial  markets. For severe operating conditions such as extreme heat and cold (-70F-350F) and for especially rugged applications, look to the leading supplier of functional yet practical Push-Pull Cables & Controls--Elliott e-novation!

Valve Control

Elliott’s Remote Valve Operators are installed or retrofitted, whether for more convenient or   emergency access or situated in a less hazardous working environment, as within Nuclear Plants, submarines, military & commercial vessels. Elliott’s ROG Systems (Remote Operating Gear) are found throughout world.

There are three types. Rigid rod systems use Elliott’s universal joints, gear boxes, remote operating deck boxes, ship joints, valve couplings and mounting hardware to create a complete valve control system.  Rigid Rod Systems are best--suited when the runs are fairly short and straight.

Flexible Shaft Systems interconnect valves with conveniently located remote operating boxes.  Elliott manufactures ROG components out of bronze and steel configurations in stainless non-magnetic and non-corrosive.  Flexible Shaft Systems are shock and vibration qualified.  Elliott Flexible Shaft ROG Systems are most effective for complex and non-linear applications.

Elliott’s Uniflex (brand) Remote Mechanical Valve Operator (RMVO) combines the best of rigid rod and flexible shafting to create one system that can cover all remote mechanical valve operation needs.  This system is totally sealed and permanently lubricated in a stainless steel housing.

Applications calling for valve control should incorporate the advantages offered by one of Elliot’s excellent “e-novative” systems.

Shielding

Elliott Flexible Metal Shielding Conduit is used to provide physical and environmental protection, as well as EMI/RFI/EMP shielding to system interconnect wiring. In nuclear plant containment areas, the conduit provides a separation barrier and protection from wash-down solutions during a Loss of Coolant Accident (LOCA) event. Use of flexible metal conduit ensures interconnect cabling performance during seismic events or in explosive environments where flying objects and debris would render a lesser system useless.
Elliott’s Shielding Product Group offers a variety of application–specific conduit configurations designed for various situations, as described above. Nickel-Iron alloys for use in EMP, low frequency magnetic environments, Corrosion Resistant Steel (CRES) alloys for stringent environmental applications, and Brass alloys for the wide spectrum RFI/EMI environments. All Elliott conduit configurations are designed and manufactured to meet military & industrial specifications that are enforced throughout the industry. Look to Elliott for advanced engineering solutions and manufacturing excellence.
