Learn how these components contribute to ideal rotary power transmission:
- Core: The flexible drive shaft core supports up to 10 horsepower and 30,000 rpm. Sizes range from 0.125 to 1.625 inches and are determined by the load and rpm transmitted through the flex shaft.
- Core fittings: To join driving and driven elements, machined or formed components, known as fittings, attach to the core ends. Infinite designs are available to best connect with your power source.
- Casing: The flexible conduit or casing protects and supports the flex shaft core during operation and prevents helixing during power transmission. Elliot’s range of casing designs prolong the life of the flex shaft in changing environmental conditions.
- Ferrules: To support the uniform bend of a flex shaft and prevent casing rotation, terminals or ferrules are attached at the end of the casing.
